Henry Pleas is a classically trained tenor based in Chicago, where he has worked actively as a professional soloist and chorister for the Lyric Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, and Chicago Symphony,  Grant Park Symphony, Ravinia Symphony Choruses. In July 2023 he sang the role of Canio in I Pagliacci for Sinfonietta Bel Canto and presents a solo recital of art songs to texts of Black poets by Black Composers.  The program features H. T. Burleigh's song cycle for tenor, Passionale.  Additionally, he works as an artistic producer, administrator and teacher. In the 2022-23 term he joined the voice faculty at North Central College.
