Woodlawn Community Singers
On behalf of the Woodlawn Community Singers and New Rhythm Arts Collaborative, we are excited by your interest in our group! We are a small group of 15+ individuals with a variety of vocal ranges and experience levels who love to sing together.
The Woodlawn Community Singers provides an opportunity for singers to participate in a choral community, improve individual vocal skills, and experience choral performances. WCS is an inclusive group that practices and performs a variety of genres, both sacred and secular. Members are not just from Woodlawn but come from across the city. The choir has developed a supportive and fun community while working hard on improving their skills and creating beautiful music.
Over the course of our first inaugural session, the choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7pm-8pm at University Church (5655 S. University) and will perform on the weekend of the Obama Presidential Center opening. Anyone interested in the choir is encouraged to fill out our registration form:
Spring 2026: April 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4, 11, 18
Session Fee: Free during our first session startup through June 22nd
Winter: Early January - Mid March
Spring: Early April - Mid June
